The enormous mixed-use port offered complicated challenges. Connectivity challenges were forcing staff to log key pieces of information manually. The port authority’s ways of working needed to evolve to help it become a port of the future.
Verizon Private 5G Network has helped provide ABP with reliable, low-latency connectivity across the port. The new private network has allowed ABP to consolidate parts of its network and communications, which also enhances security measures. Fast data exchange now allow ABP to update customs with real-time information.

With nearly ¼ of a million people expected to attend the three-day F1 event, a dedicated private network delivers high-speed, high-capacity, and low-latency for advanced applications. Verizon expected even greater usage than the 34 TB of data used by Verizon customers in 2022.
Verizon deployed a Private Managed Wireless Solution at the track that enables venue management solutions including ticket scanning, digital sign management, multiple point of sale terminals for various merchants, and immediate uploads for photographers looking to cover the action as it unfolds.

Interoperability
Verizon is working with the U.S. DoD and Lockheed Martin (LM) to leverage the high-speed, high-bandwidth and low-latency of Verizon 5G. In particular, Verizon and LM are partnering on 5G.MIL technologies, bringing together high-tech platforms into a cohesive network spanning air, land, sea, space and cyber domains.
LM flew drones while linked to two Verizon On Site Private Network nodes. The companies seamlessly and securely moved the data captured by the drones between a 5G private network and a surrogate public network, extending the reach of 5G.MIL to a range of military environments where commercial networks may not be available or appropriate.

Scalability
In an NFL game, every second matters, as the margin between winning and losing is miniscule. The backbone of world-class play on-the-field is communication. An initial pilot for the 2022 International Games included deployment and management of a private wireless technology, testing and coordination and in-game operational support.
Verizon Business is now delivering a Managed Private Wireless Solution across each of the 30 U.S. NFL stadiums. This solution includes full support for coach-to-coach communications on the field and provides the NFL with speed, security and reliability for critical on field coach-to-coach communication.
